Stories that resonate
I believe in the power of real stories. Discover how I capture human experiences and shed light on social issues in a way that goes beyond merely watching.
Invisible Scars explores the psychological aftermath of gender-based violence through the voices of those who live with its consequences.
In this intimate documentary, Lena Olivier speaks about losing her sister to femicide, while Triene-Mie Le Compte shares what it means to rebuild a life after surviving it. Their testimonies reveal the invisible weight of grief, trauma, survival and resilience.
This documentary does not focus on the crime itself. It focuses on what remains.
The silence.
The scars.
And the strength it takes to continue.
Onder Dezelfde Sterren is a documentary that looks beyond the loss itself. Because how do you move on after saying goodbye to your child? And how do you ensure that his or her name is never forgotten?
Valerie and Tom lost their son Stan shortly after his birth. Both were looking for a way to come to terms with this immense loss. Valerie found comfort by fully embracing the grieving process and volunteers for the Berrefonds. Tom, on the other hand, finds peace at Stan’s grave, the place where he feels closest to his son. Although they each deal with their grief in their own way, they have found each other by talking a lot and giving each other space to grieve.
The documentary shows how two people cope with loss in their own ways, and how they continue to find each other in the space Stan left behind.

Stories that matter
At Cineography, I believe it is especially important to capture stories that have a human and social impact. I am interested in topics that are often overlooked but have a significant influence on people’s lives. These can be personal stories about loss, resilience, and identity, as well as broader social issues such as gender-based violence, racism or gender/social inequality.
By telling these stories from the perspective of the people who experience them, I try to create more understanding and awareness. The goal is not only to provide information, but above all to let viewers feel what these experiences mean for those involved.
I believe that documentary film is a powerful medium for sparking conversations and prompting people to reflect on realities they may not yet be familiar with. That is why I consciously choose stories that are honest, human, and meaningful.

A lasting impression
After watching my documentaries, I hope that people will be moved by the stories and the people at the heart of the film. I want viewers not only to gain new insights, but also to feel an emotional connection to the experiences and perspectives shared.
In addition, I hope my documentaries will inspire reflection and conversation. By sharing personal stories, I aim to foster greater understanding of complex social issues and demonstrate how they impact the lives of real people.
Ultimately, my goal is for viewers to feel not just that they’ve watched a film, but that they’ve experienced a story that will stay with them for a while.
